Lamb and Bacon Burgers

Ingredients

  • 3 strips of bacon, chopped finely
  • 2 ounces Fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1/2 ground lamb (or beef is you choose not to use lamb)
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper
  • 6 Whole grain rolls, split and toasted
  • Sliced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the lamb, breadcrumbs, onion, oregano, bacon and salt and pepper. Bind together with the egg.Divide the mixture into 6, roll into balls and flatten with the palm of your hand. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  2. Place the burgers on a preheated grill and cook for 5-6 minutes each side, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.
  3. Serve each burger in a warm toasted roll filled with a lettuce and tomato garnish.
