Ingredients

  • 250 g red lentil pasta
  • 2 piece red bell peppers
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 1 piece onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 1 bunch basil
  • 1 pinch sweet paprika
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Instructions

  1. Quarter and deseed the peppers and roast them cut-side down under the oven grill until the skin blisters and blackens. Cover briefly, then peel off the skin.
  2. Cook the lentil pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente, following the package. Reserve a cup of the cooking water, then drain.
  3. Soften the onion and garlic in the olive oil. Blend smooth with the roasted peppers and cream cheese and loosen with a little pasta water into a silky sauce.
  4. Season the sauce with paprika, salt and pepper, warm it and toss the pasta through until evenly coated.
  5. Serve scattered with fresh basil and coarsely ground pepper.
