Ingredients

  • 600 g chicken breast
  • 150 g plain yogurt
  • 400 g passata (strained tomatoes)
  • 40 g butter
  • 150 ml cream
  • 1 piece onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 20 g fresh ginger
  • 10 g garam masala
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and toss with the yogurt, half the grated ginger, one clove of garlic and a little garam masala. Cover and marinate.
  2. Melt the butter in a pan and sweat the diced onion with the remaining garlic and ginger. Add the rest of the garam masala and toast briefly until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the passata and let it reduce uncovered until the sauce thickens. Add the marinated chicken and cook in the sauce until cooked through.
  4. Stir in the cream, season with salt and let it simmer gently for a few more minutes. Serve with rice or naan.
