Turkish Köfte with Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 piece onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 5 g ground cumin
  • 5 g paprika powder
  • 1 piece egg
  • 40 g breadcrumbs
  • 300 g Greek yogurt
  • 3 piece tomatoes
  • 15 ml olive oil

Instructions

  1. Finely grate the onion and two garlic cloves and chop the parsley. Knead thoroughly with the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, cumin, paprika, salt and pepper, then chill for 15 minutes.
  2. With damp hands, shape the mixture into oval köfte. Fry in a little oil over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until browned all over.
  3. For the sauce, stir the Greek yogurt with the remaining pressed garlic clove and a pinch of salt.
  4. Dice the tomatoes and dress them with olive oil and salt. Serve the köfte with the garlic yogurt and the tomato salad.
