Ingredients

  • 8 piece bratwurst sausages
  • 1 piece onion
  • 400 g tomato passata
  • 45 ml tomato paste
  • 15 g curry powder
  • 1 pinch smoked paprika
  • 20 g brown sugar
  • 15 ml white wine vinegar
  • 60 ml cola
  • 15 ml rapeseed oil

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the onion. Heat the oil in a pan and soften the onion over medium heat until translucent.
  2. Stir in the tomato paste and half the curry powder for a minute, then pour in the passata, cola, vinegar, sugar and paprika. Let the sauce simmer gently for ten minutes until thick and glossy.
  3. Meanwhile, fry the sausages in a second pan until crisp and browned all over, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Divide the sausage slices among plates, pour over the hot sauce and dust with the remaining curry powder. Serve with fries or a bread roll.
