Ingredients

  • 600 g mixed ground meat
  • 1 piece stale bread roll
  • 1 piece onion, finely diced
  • 1 piece egg for binding
  • 3 piece hard-boiled eggs for the filling
  • 20 g medium mustard
  • 30 g tomato paste
  • 400 ml beef broth for the gravy
  • 2 pinch salt, pepper and paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Soak the bread roll in water, squeeze it out well and knead it with the ground meat, onion, raw egg and mustard into a smooth mixture, seasoning generously.
  2. Shape half the mixture into a long bed, lay the peeled hard-boiled eggs in a row on top and wrap firmly with the remaining mixture to form a smooth loaf.
  3. Place the loaf in a baking dish, brush with tomato paste and bake in the oven for about 50 to 60 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Bring the rendered juices and the beef broth to a boil in a pot, reduce briefly and serve the sliced meatloaf with the gravy.
