Ingredients

  • 600 g white fish fillet (e.g. cod)
  • 800 g floury potatoes
  • 400 ml milk
  • 40 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • 150 g peas
  • 50 g grated cheese
  • 0.5 bunch chives
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes, boil in salted water until soft, then mash with a little milk and half the butter.
  2. Gently poach the fish in the remaining milk, lift it out and keep the milk.
  3. Make a light sauce from the remaining butter, the flour and the poaching milk, and season with nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  4. Break the fish into pieces, combine with the peas and sauce in a baking dish and stir in the chives.
  5. Spread the mash on top, sprinkle with cheese and bake at 200 °C until golden.
