⏱ 26 min · 🍽️ 4 Servings · 🧂 6 Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 bunch radishes (approx. 500 g)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chives (cut into rings)

Instructions

  1. Wash the radishes, cut off the leaves and trim the root tips. Halve the radishes and quarter large ones, so that all the pieces cook at the same rate.
  2. Mix the halves in a bowl with the olive oil, the salt and the pepper until all the cut surfaces glisten.
  3. Preheat the airfryer to 190 °C.
  4. Put the radishes into the basket in a single layer with space between them and do not stack anything; cook larger quantities in two batches. Cook at 190 °C.
  5. Shake the basket firmly so that the pieces change sides, and continue cooking at 190 °C until the cut surfaces are browned.
  6. Drizzle the lemon juice over the hot radishes and scatter over the chives.

Roasted Radishes from the Airfryer

An everyday German recipe for all of Germany: radishes go into the basket halved instead of landing raw on a slice of bread. Their sharpness turns into a mild sweetness, the halves keep a slight bite and are reminiscent of small yellow turnips. The hot air stream brings roasted aromas for which a big oven would otherwise have to preheat, but the heat and the crunch of raw radishes are lost completely.
