Ingredients

  • 2 can chickpeas (400 g each)
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes (400 g)
  • 2 piece onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 20 g ginger
  • 1 piece green chili
  • 5 g garam masala
  • 3 g ground cumin
  • 2 g turmeric
  • 3 g paprika powder
  • 30 ml oil
  • 1 bunch cilantro

Instructions

  1. Finely dice the onions and finely chop the garlic, ginger and chili. Heat the oil in a pot and fry the onions for 8 minutes until golden.
  2. Add the garlic, ginger, chili and the spices (garam masala, cumin, turmeric, paprika) and toast for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the chopped tomatoes and reduce for 5 minutes. Add the drained chickpeas with a splash of water and simmer for 15 minutes until thick.
  4. Season with salt and scatter with fresh cilantro. Serve with rice or flatbread.
