Kinderbowle (children's fruit punch)
A German classic that is missing from no children's birthday party anywhere in the country: an alcohol-free punch of strawberries, grapes, apple and orange in cloudy apple juice and white grape juice. Ice-cold mineral water makes it sparkle, and at the end the fruit is fished out of the glass with a spoon. The recipe makes a good two litres.

Wash the strawberries briefly, leave them to drain, remove the hulls and halve the berries. Wash the grapes and halve them too.
- 2
Wash the apple, cut it into quarters, cut out the core and cut the flesh into small cubes.
- 3
Squeeze the lemon and drizzle the juice over the diced apple so that it stays pale.
- 4
Wash the orange in hot water, cut it into thin slices and quarter them.
- 5
Put all the fruit into a large punch bowl, pour in the apple juice and the grape juice and leave it to infuse in the fridge, covered.
- 6
Shortly before serving, pour in the ice-cold mineral water, add the ice cubes and float the washed lemon balm on top.
- 7
Ladle the punch into glasses and hand round drinking straws.
