Baked Bananas from the Air Fryer
A German dessert made all over the country from a handful of ingredients: bananas filled in their own skins with cinnamon sugar and chopped hazelnuts and baked hot. The flesh turns creamy and honey-sweet, the nuts toast on top and smell of cinnamon. In the air fryer the dessert is on the table after a quarter of an hour, while the big oven takes almost as long to preheat for four bananas as it then does to cook them.

Instructions
- 1
Wash the bananas and cut them lengthways without peeling them, without cutting through the skin underneath. The skin then stays a closed shape from which nothing runs out.
- 2
Drizzle the cut with the lemon juice so that the flesh stays pale, and press the opening apart a little with your fingers.
- 3
Mix the sugar with the cinnamon and fill it into the opening, scatter the chopped hazelnuts over it and set a small piece of the butter or margarine on each banana.
- 4
Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 5
Lay the bananas with the opening facing up in a single layer in the basket, spaced apart and not stacked; cook a larger quantity in two batches. Cook at 180 °C.
- 6
Carry on cooking the bananas at 180 °C without turning them until the skin is black and the flesh is completely soft. Do not turn them, as the filling would otherwise run out of the cut.
