Baked Pears with Cinnamon from the Air Fryer
A German dessert that comes to the table all over the country in pear season: halved pears whose hollows are filled with a mixture of butter or margarine, sugar and cinnamon. In the hot basket the halves turn soft and translucent, the cinnamon sugar melts to a dark syrup and the flaked almonds on top toast golden brown. The machine needs hardly any preheating, but only as many halves fit in as have room side by side.

Instructions
- 1
Wash the pears, halve them and scoop the core out with a teaspoon to leave a round hollow.
- 2
Drizzle the cut surfaces with the lemon juice so that the pale flesh does not turn brown.
- 3
Stir the soft butter or margarine smooth with the sugar and the cinnamon and spread the mixture into the hollows.
- 4
Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 5
Set the pear halves cut side up in a single layer in the basket, spaced apart and not stacked; cook a larger quantity in two batches. Cook at 180 °C.
- 6
Scatter the flaked almonds over the halves and carry on cooking at 180 °C without turning them until the pears are soft and the almonds have taken on colour. Do not turn them, as the melted filling would otherwise run out of the hollow.
